Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information PyroGlow (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects when you use pyroglow.space and related domains (the “Service”), how we use it, and the choices you have. We built PyroGlow to be a lightweight discovery catalog, and we try to collect as little as possible.
1. Information we collect
We collect only what is needed to run the Service:
- Account information. If you create an account, we store your chosen username, email address, and a securely hashed password. We never store your password in plain text.
- Profile content. Optional details you add yourself — bio, location, website, avatar image, favorite shows, and any custom profile CSS.
- Activity you create. Your watchlist, ratings, comments, follows/friends, and viewing progress so we can sync them across your devices.
- Local device storage. Preferences such as your accent color, dismissed notices, and a locally-cached watchlist are stored in your browser’s
localStorageand never leave your device unless you are signed in. - Technical data. Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, timestamps) processed by our hosting and security providers to keep the Service running and secure.
2. How we use information
- To provide core features: accounts, watchlists, ratings, comments, friends, and recommendations.
- To remember your preferences and personalize what you see.
- To secure the Service, prevent abuse, and diagnose technical problems.
- To communicate essential account messages, such as password resets.
We do not sell your personal information.
3. Cookies and advertising
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in and remember settings. We may display advertising through Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the Internet.
You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendor use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info.
4. Third-party streaming providers
PyroGlow does not host, upload, or store any video files. Playback is provided by independent third-party embed providers. When you open a player, that provider may set its own cookies and collect data under its own privacy policy, which we do not control. We encourage you to review the policies of any provider you use, and to use a reputable ad blocker.
5. Data retention and security
We keep account data for as long as your account is active. Passwords are hashed using PBKDF2. While no online service can guarantee absolute security, we take reasonable measures to protect your information. You can delete your account at any time from your profile’s Security tab, which removes your associated data.
6. Your choices
- Edit or remove profile details at any time from your profile page.
- Clear your locally-stored preferences by clearing your browser storage.
- Delete your account to remove your stored data.
- Control advertising personalization via the links in Section 3.
7. Children’s privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can remove it.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the revised policy.
9. Contact
Questions about this policy can be sent through the contact channels listed on our About page.
